With the news of indescribable flooding impacting our friends in southeast Texas, most notably the Houston area, we here at Cheetah Clean felt the need to give back. Thanks to you all, we were able to make that happen.
The events that continue to unfold will take your breath away, and make you think twice about how precious life can be. The following is the latest from CBS News:
Beaumont and Port Arthur, Texas, struggled with rising water as the area was pounded with what remained of the weakening storm, while Houston’s fire department said it would begin a block-by-block search of thousands of flooded homes. Assistant Fire Chief Richard Mann said the searches were to ensure “no people were left behind.”
The confirmed death toll climbed to at least 29, including six family members – four of them children – whose bodies were pulled Wednesday from a van that had been swept off a Houston bridge into a bayou.
“Unfortunately, it seems that our worst thoughts are being realized,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said after the van that disappeared over the weekend was found in 10 feet of muddy water.
On Tuesday, August 29th, we decided that $1 would be donated to every car we washed at BOTH locations, along with an additional $1 for every new UNLIMITED member that signed on. The weather cleared up just in time for a great turnout, and we can’t thank you enough!
Following the efforts of our fantastic team and customers, we’re happy to report that over $500 was raised and donated to the fund. Our thoughts and prayers are with those in Houston and surrounding areas.
